Prof. Tawfik bin Ahmed Khoja

Qualifications:

  • Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRCGP - UK) since 1989, and Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health (FFPH - UK) since 2003.
  • Fellowship in Internal Medicine (FRCP - UK) obtained in 2007.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from King Saud University in 1982, and a two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Family Medicine (DPHC) from the same university in 1986.

Family Medicine, Public Health, Health Systems and Policy Development, Quality and Patient Safety, Health Management, Primary Health Care, and Research & Studies.


Positions:

  1. Former Director-General of the Executive Board of the Health Ministers’ Council for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for over 16 years.
  2. Secretary-General of the Arab Hospitals Federation, and Vice President of the Arab Public Health Association.
  3. Vice President of the Arab Union for Excellence in Governance, Vice President of the Arab American Academy for Governance, and former Vice President of the Arab Union for Combating Forgery and Counterfeiting.

Recipient of numerous national, regional, and international awards and recognitions — exceeding 45 honors — including the World Health Organization Award for Tobacco Control, the WHO’s Certificate of Excellence for Professionals, the Cambridge International Center Award (UK) for Distinguished Personalities of the 20th Century, recognition among the Top 100 Global Healthcare Leaders, and the Best Family Physician in the Middle East.Publications and Research:
